Source not verified: Click Petróleo e Gás (CPG) reported on 10 October 2026 that ANEEL’s Regulatory Resolution 1,170 was published in Brazil’s official gazette on 9 October. CPG says it was signed on 6 October. The official ANEEL PDF and gazette link could not be accessed for this review, so the provisions below follow CPG’s account.

According to CPG, non-reservoir hydro plants with turbine-spill availability enter the financial curtailment allocation after an 18-month transition, in 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% phases. Eligible wind and solar plants share the remaining allocation during that phase-in. The rule does not guarantee a compensation amount for any generator or less physical curtailment; no conclusion about consumer tariffs follows.
