Aleppo Governorate, UN-Habitat and Alwaleed Philanthropies announced on 19 October that a project to restore water supply in eastern Aleppo had been completed. The partners said the work supports access for about 600,000 people in Tel Shegheb, Karm Al-Myassar, Al-Nayrab and Qadi Askar.

The project rehabilitated sections of the main transmission pipeline and repaired associated household connections. The partners said the work reduced leakage losses and improved service reliability; roads and public spaces affected by excavation were also rehabilitated. The 600,000 figure is the partners’ stated coverage, not an independent measurement or a guarantee of uninterrupted household supply.
