Uzbekistan's Ministry of Water Resources reported that 9.457 billion cubic metres of water were saved from January through August 2026. The ministry attributed 4.565 billion cubic metres to water-efficient irrigation and laser land levelling, and 2.663 billion to canal repair and lining.

It said digital technologies accounted for 545 million cubic metres, while lower-water crops and additional field practices accounted for 1.684 billion. The ministry's programme sets a full-year savings target of 11 billion cubic metres; that figure is a target, not an achieved result.
