Export Exchange in Seattle draws grain buyers from more than 50 countries

More than 400 international buyers and end-users from over 50 countries arrived in Seattle for Export Exchange 2026, co-sponsored by the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council, Growth Energy and the Renewable Fuels Association. The council said they were expected to meet nearly 300 U.S. suppliers and service providers.

The event focuses on products including corn, distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS), sorghum and barley. The council organized 20 trade teams; 13 arrived before the conference and visited corn-growing states, DDGS production at ethanol plants and port facilities. The remaining seven are scheduled for post-conference tours.

Council chairman Jay Reiners is also due to sign a memorandum of understanding with BioPower Energy, which plans an integrated biorefinery in the United Arab Emirates. The council said the memorandum will record BioPower’s intention to source 50% to 100% of its feedstock needs from U.S. suppliers. It describes an intention, not a purchase commitment or completed sale.

Methodology

Buyer, country and team counts and the supplier estimate are transcribed from the organizing council’s October 15 release. “More than” is marked as a lower bound and “nearly” as approximate. BioPower’s 50%–100% range is only an intended feedstock sourcing share, not completed procurement.
