UNESCO expands its AI and digital citizenship course

The third cohort of UNESCO’s free online course “Educating in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Digital Citizenship at School” is scheduled to begin on 12 October 2026. A Portuguese version joins the existing English and Spanish editions.

The third cohort of UNESCO’s free online course “Educating in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Digital Citizenship at School” is scheduled to begin on 12 October 2026. A Portuguese version joins the existing English and Spanish editions.

More than 33,000 people from over 113 countries registered for the first two editions; 61% of registrants were women and the course retention rate exceeded 34%. Its five modules cover algorithms, disinformation, digital rights and ethical uses of artificial intelligence in education.
