Participants in the Move Challenge, run by Active Abu Dhabi with citymoov, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre’s platform, recorded 2.31 million steps and covered 1,735 kilometres across five shopping malls in July and August 2026, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on 13 October. The venues were Al Dhafra, Al Foah, Al Wahda, Dalma and Al Khalidiyah malls.

The report describes location-based tasks completed through the app during shopping visits as a way to add activity to daily routines. WAM did not give a total participant count or explain how steps and distance were measured; the reported programme totals do not measure activity across the wider population or health outcomes.
