Türkiye takes customs co-chair role on WCO–UPU committee

Deniz Okan Savaş will serve a two-year term covering 2026–2027.

The Trade Ministry announced Deniz Okan Savaş’s selection as customs co-chair of the World Customs Organization–Universal Postal Union contact committee. The appointment covers 2026–2027.

The committee addresses cross-border e-commerce, customs treatment of postal consignments and data interoperability. The appointment concerns institutional coordination; it does not itself introduce a customs duty or automatic exemption for businesses.
