Toyota’s U.S. sales rose 8.4% in September

Toyota Motor North America reported U.S. vehicle sales up 8.4% by volume in September, while electrified-vehicle sales rose 37.8%.

The company sold 201,306 vehicles in the United States in September. It classified 117,215 as electrified, equal to 58.2% of total sales volume. Those comparisons are by volume against the same month last year.

Third-quarter sales totaled 633,223 vehicles, up 0.6%, while electrified-vehicle sales increased 28.5% to 363,367. The release also reports daily-selling-rate comparisons separately; the growth figures here are volume-based and are not calendar-day adjusted.
