Syria’s education ministry outlined a National Advanced Technology Pathway for schools in Damascus, Homs and Aleppo. The decree establishing the track was issued on October 7; the ministry said classes were scheduled to begin on November 1.
Students are to take a common Grade 10 curriculum before choosing digital or industrial specializations in Grade 11. The ministry described about 100 places at each school and an 85% basic-certificate score as an entry condition. Experts’ proposal to devote about 60% of the curriculum to practice is a recommendation, not an adopted rule.
