According to a 15 October report by Sudan News Agency, Gezira Governor Taher Ibrahim al-Khair visited Harvest's seed preparation and production facility in the state. The governor said the state government supported local seed production and was prepared to address obstacles facing factories.

Harvest's Gezira-sector manager Babaker Sayed Ahmed said 3,500 tonnes of wheat seed were ready and called for electricity and fuel problems in industrial zones to be addressed. A company adviser said the plant's sieve processes 10 tonnes of seed per day; that rate is separate from the ready-stock figure.
