SLB reported on Oct. 23 that revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, was $9.449 billion, up 5% sequentially and 6% year over year.

Cash from operations was $1.51 billion and free cash flow was $828 million, according to the release. The board approved a quarterly dividend of $0.295 per share, payable in January 2027.

North American revenue was $2.401 billion, 7% higher than in the previous quarter and 24% above the year-earlier period. Management attributed regional growth in part to increased activity in U.S. land operations.

SLB said revenue in its Data Center Solutions business rose 23% sequentially. That business supplies infrastructure services and modular solutions, making it an adjacent growth area for an oilfield-services company.

The release also described contract awards and technology deployments across several countries. These are company announcements, and individual contracts do not represent recognized revenue unless and when the work is performed.

The quarter combined higher revenue with lower GAAP net income than the preceding quarter. The results therefore show stronger sales and operating activity alongside cost, margin and regional differences that the headline growth rate alone does not capture.

The geographic table gives useful context for the North American increase. International revenue was $6.993 billion, up 5% sequentially and 1% year on year, while North America reached $2.401 billion, up 7% sequentially and 24% year on year. SLB said that excluding ChampionX, North American revenue still increased 13% year on year. The acquisition contributed $956 million of current-quarter revenue, compared with $579 million in the year-earlier comparison, which included only two months of ChampionX activity. Those figures make clear why headline growth and acquisition-adjusted growth tell different stories.

Across divisions, Production Systems generated $4.0 billion in revenue, up 15% year on year, while Well Construction generated $2.888 billion, down 3%, and Reservoir Performance $1.634 billion, down 3%. Digital revenue was $693 million, 5% higher year on year. The divisional picture was therefore uneven: the company’s production business grew strongly while two other large divisions remained below their year-earlier revenue. SLB attributed sequential gains to a mix of Middle East recovery, stronger North American land activity, offshore activity and customer demand for production chemicals and artificial lift.

SLB reported that all geographic areas grew sequentially, while describing different regional drivers. It said Middle East activity rose 13% sequentially despite late-quarter disruptions. The company also cited North American land growth and international deepwater work. For Well Construction and Reservoir Performance, it pointed to higher drilling-fluid sales, drilling-measurement revenue and evaluation and intervention activity, particularly in Europe and Africa, Latin America and Asia. These are management’s explanations of its results; the release does not provide an independent measure of how much each factor contributed.

The results also included a separate data-center business that SLB described as an accelerating growth driver. Data Center Solutions revenue rose 23% sequentially, which the company attributed to demand, a wider service scope and expansion into Asia. This industrial technology activity should not be confused with oilfield revenue or treated as proof that SLB’s energy-services business grew at the same rate. SLB said its planned Kelvion acquisition would strengthen the portfolio, but a planned acquisition is distinct from reported quarterly sales and may not yet contribute to results.

Cash flow and shareholder distributions provide additional scale indicators. Operations generated $1.51 billion in cash, and free cash flow was $828 million; the board approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.295 per share. These cash figures accompany revenue growth but do not erase the reported year-on-year decline in GAAP net income or the lower adjusted EPS compared with 2025. SLB reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.64, down 7% year on year, alongside GAAP EPS of $0.49, down 2%. The basis matters because charges and credits affect the two measures differently.
