RoslinCT said the programme would add digital and AI capabilities to manufacturing, improve data connectivity and develop a digitally integrated production environment. The company expects the work to improve operational efficiency and manufacturing performance; the announcement does not report a measured efficiency gain.

The grant is intended to support manufacturing capabilities in Scotland’s life sciences sector. RoslinCT says it operates 22 cGMP cell-therapy suites across sites in Edinburgh and Massachusetts in the United States; that total is not Scotland-only.
