Richmond Valley Council says it has issued an initial Subdivision Works Certificate for the Iron Gates residential development at Evans Head, New South Wales, and that activities supporting the start of works have commenced. The development received consent from the Land and Environment Court in July 2024. Council says Iron Gates Drive has been closed to provide construction access and allow bridge remediation.

In an update published October 12, the council said it would proactively release the certificate under state information-access rules and make supporting documents available for inspection by appointment at its Evans Head office. It cited ongoing public questions and said access arrangements would protect the privacy and intellectual property of the applicant and consultants. The notice does not specify the development’s scale or a construction completion date.
