Norway’s Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance said on October 9 that an Oslo Economics evaluation found the Government Procurement Centre had saved the state NOK 1.5 billion over four years. The centre negotiates shared purchasing agreements for government agencies.

The ministry said the public sector buys more than NOK 800 billion in goods and services each year and shared agreements cover about 1.3% of state procurement. A 2027 budget proposal to strengthen coordination with NOK 30 million is expected to save the public sector NOK 4.6 billion over five years; that is a forecast for a proposed expansion, not a realized saving.
