Ninth Wave introduced its Agentic Control Layer on 21 October as a framework for governing AI agents’ access to financial account data, and said an MCP server was available through early access. The company said agents must have a registered operator, while customers approve which accounts and data can be accessed, for what purpose and for how long. Permission is checked on each request.

The first release is read-only and supports account lists and balances, transaction histories for defined date ranges, and account-holder verification. The company said institutions can pause agents and review logs of approved and denied requests; money movement remains on the roadmap. Ninth Wave invited banks and credit unions to a pilot, with features and timing subject to change.
