President Bola Tinubu, represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, announced the planned quarterly government–civil society policy dialogue forum at the National CSO Summit in Abuja on 2 October, according to NAN. The forum is intended to bring evidence-based advocacy and community concerns into policy formulation, implementation and evaluation.

Tinubu also pledged greater collaboration with accredited civil society groups on public-finance transparency, budget tracking and monitoring humanitarian and grassroots programmes. Summit convener Kunle Yusuff said civil society leaders had previously sent nine recommendations to the Presidency and that three had received government attention. NAN did not state when the forum would begin or identify those three recommendations.
