Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) said on October 9 that a sales discount introduced on October 1 for Independence Day would continue through October 31 at NNPC Retail stations nationwide. The company did not disclose the discount amount.

NNPC described the offer as temporary customer relief, not a restoration of a government petroleum subsidy or a uniform national pump price. Its statement said the market-based pricing framework remains in place and the discount applies only at NNPC Retail outlets.
