New Zealand opened consultation on 28 heavy vehicle rule proposals on 19 October. They include allowing heavier freight loads and changing specialist vehicle weight arrangements.

Travel times for overdimension loads and a mass-limit exemption for rigid agricultural vehicles are also under consultation. These are proposed changes; the announcement does not put the new rules into force.
