In its 15 October release, Midland Exploration said it collected 152 rock samples and 532 soil samples during the first 2026 field phase at its Caniapisc Au project in Quebec. Work included mapping, prospecting, soil sampling, LiDAR and high-resolution imagery. The company said remote-sensing data helped identify possible boulder fields and outcrops.
The company reported that five selected rock samples exceeded 1 g/t gold and nine exceeded 0.5 g/t; the highest assay was 15.8 g/t. It came from a selected boulder grab sample of banded amphibolite containing a pyritic quartz vein. These were not soil results; assays from the 532 soil samples were pending when the release appeared. Individual selected boulder samples do not establish a mineral resource or reserve.
