Mexico’s Security Cabinet said on October 2 that authorities seized 60 tonnes of counterfeit cigarettes during a search of a warehouse in Huixquilucan, in the State of Mexico. The government account also listed four cigarette-making machines and more than two million cigarettes among the items seized.

Three people were detained; officials said two were foreign nationals. The detainees and seized items were handed to prosecutors, and the building was sealed, according to the statement.
