Both designs have six DDR4/DDR5 memory channels, which Marvell describes as 50% more than the prior generation. The company lists support for up to 9 TB of DDR4 with the 3406, 6 TB of DDR5 with the 3506, and sharing across as many as four hosts.

The products were demonstrated at the event; Marvell said it expects the controllers to sample in the first quarter of 2027. Capacity and latency benefits are company claims and have not been independently verified here.
