Manitoba’s October 9 open-market bulletin listed a farmer’s net cash return of C$775.14 per tonne for canola delivered to a Winnipeg elevator, above C$566.14 a year earlier. The reported return for soybeans was C$592.31 per tonne, compared with C$433.95 in the year-earlier column.

The bulletin also reported weekly prices for wheat, barley, flaxseed, peas, corn and oats. These are net cash return indicators for farmers in the province; they differ from futures prices and farm-specific contract prices. The report presents weekly changes and year-earlier comparisons in the same units.
