Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said the national system recorded a maximum load of 17,540 MW during summer 2026. Its September 15 statement compared that with 17,610 MW in summer 2025 and 17,640 MW in 2024, a second consecutive annual decline in peak demand.

The ministry said new facilities added 2,078 MW of electrical load between summer 2024 and summer 2026, including 1,019 MW in the latest period. It attributed the lower peak to efficiency and demand-management measures but did not quantify the separate effect of each measure.
