Pumping water from the Disi Water Conveyance Project to Amman was suspended after severe weather in southern and eastern Jordan caused technical failures. Petra’s October 11 report cited a joint statement from the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Water Authority of Jordan, Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna) and Disi operator DIWACO.

The agencies said the outage would delay or alter scheduled distribution in several Amman neighborhoods on Saturday and Sunday. Technical teams were working to repair the system, restore well operations and resume pumping; regular deliveries would follow each area’s rotation after repairs. The report confirmed an interruption but did not say full-capacity service had already resumed.
