Centria, a natural-gas distribution company in the Estra group, said on 9 October that it had completed a grid connection for a biomethane plant in Cortona, Tuscany. The existing facility was converted from electricity production to biomethane, with stated capacity of about 400 standard cubic metres an hour.

The company said it would distribute up to 3.5 million standard cubic metres of biomethane a year, produced by processing agricultural waste. Centria extended its medium-pressure network by more than 1,400 metres and said it will monitor injection remotely. These are company-reported capacity and maximum distribution figures, not measured annual output.

The company’s “more than 1,400 metres” is recorded as a lower bound; capacity and maximum distribution are not encoded numerically because the registered units lack standard cubic metres.
