The Press Information Bureau said the remarks came in Singh’s conversation on the sidelines of the Bloomberg Economy Forum 2026. He said nuclear power is expected to complement other sources by supplying continuous, reliable electricity.

The 100 GW figure is a forward-looking capacity target, not a statement of current installed capacity or completed projects. The release also cites India’s 2070 net-zero emissions target.
