An African Development Bank project summary dated 17 October says Guinea’s FOSTER fertilizer value-chain project is scheduled to run from 1 March 2027 to 28 February 2030. It plans a distribution network and fertilizer credit for smallholders in Kindia, Mamou, Dabola, Kouroussa, Kankan, Siguiri and Mandiana.

The project focuses on rice, maize, fonio and horticulture. The Africa Fertilizer Financing Mechanism is to cover 50% of losses from defaults on fertilizer credit through EKAP; the plan targets about 16,200 tonnes of fertilizer credit. It also proposes 5,000 soil analyses and training for 300 agripreneurs. These are future project targets, not achieved outputs.
