Prices for the French market rose 1.7% during the month and 6.8% over the year. Export-market prices increased 1.9% and 12.0% respectively. Excluding energy in its broad definition, producer prices increased 0.3% during September and 3.2% over twelve months.

The separate industrial import-price index rose 2.0% during the month and 11.0% over the year. Producer and import indexes track different transactions and should not be added together or read as consumer inflation. INSEE derives the measures from its industry and services price survey; they describe price changes rather than changes in production volumes.
