The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) announced on October 23 that it had selected 30 proposals in Phase 1 of its PIPE Jornada Tecnológica Agro call. PIPE supports innovative scientific and technological research in small companies in São Paulo state through non-reimbursable funding. The result notice lists selected proposals and researchers but gives no total award value, per-project amount or shared completion date. It is a selection announcement, not proof that all projects have begun or technologies are commercially available.

The portfolio spans different parts of agricultural technology. One project would develop regulatory-intelligence software to digitize and automate processes involved in registering phytosanitary products. A proposal led by Agrio Tecnologia describes an embedded system to map localized pesticide application in real time, transmit telemetry to a central office and use artificial intelligence to recommend herbicides. These are stated aims; the notice gives no field-trial results, measured pesticide reduction or model-accuracy score.

Another selected proposal concerns a low-cost, locally developed multichannel optical-fluorescence sensor intended to read multiple PCR reaction chambers on microfluidic chips for molecular diagnosis in agricultural settings. FAPESP lists the proposed use but publishes no sensitivity, specificity, throughput, production cost or validated target organism. Those technical performance claims would require later results and cannot be assumed from a project title.

The list also includes intelligent management of data flows between edge devices and cloud systems in locations with limited connectivity. Other selected work addresses water monitoring across the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum, digital agroforestry monitoring and biological agricultural inputs. The portfolio therefore includes software, sensors, data infrastructure and bio-based tools, but the selection notice does not report completed prototypes or deployment.

FAPESP says projects will be carried out in companies headquartered in São Paulo state. Each responsible researcher must be a partner in the host company and reside in the state during project execution. The notice does not break selections down by municipality, company size or technology category. It would be inaccurate to assign the 30 proposals to invented sector totals based on the examples highlighted here.

The Phase 1 label marks early research rather than finished products. The call was launched in March and uses non-reimbursable resources to support research in small firms. FAPESP publishes process numbers, responsible researchers and, where specified, host companies for the selected proposals. Later checkpoints include project progress, technical validation and any subsequent funding stage. The October 23 result itself establishes only that 30 proposals were selected.

A FAPESP duyurusundaki bu liste, küçük şirketlerde araştırma yürütme koşuluyla yayımlandı.
