Held alongside SEMICON Taiwan 2026, the meeting focused on how rising demand for AI chips and data-centre infrastructure, together with the EU’s proposed Chips Act 2.0, is shaping industrial cooperation. Semiconductor companies and research and technology institutes from Europe and Taiwan took part.

Panels considered potential roles for Taiwanese companies in Europe’s AI infrastructure and complementary capabilities in chip design, design tools and intellectual-property development. The Commission described an industry dialogue and announced no investment or supply agreement.
