The UK government announced nearly £140 million for 14 urgent-care schemes across England on 18 October. Projects include new urgent treatment centres, same-day emergency care, ambulance fleets and emergency-department upgrades. The release also says 25 new or expanded urgent-care sites are due to open for winter.
The government reported that more than 7.4 million flu vaccinations had been delivered in England by 11 October and urged eligible people to book. The announcement combines schemes already open with others expected to open between October 2026 and January 2027; it does not say all funded services are already operating.
