Egyptian foreign minister discusses Gaza and West Bank with Fatah official

Badr Abdelatty met Fatah Central Committee Secretary-General Jibril Rajoub to discuss developments in the Palestinian territories. Egypt’s account stressed unimpeded humanitarian aid into Gaza and early recovery.

According to the foreign ministry spokesperson, Abdelatty called for completing first-phase commitments under the U.S. peace plan and continuing Palestinian national dialogue. The meeting also addressed settler attacks in the West Bank and the status of holy sites in Jerusalem.

They also discussed support for reform and institutional capacity of the Palestinian Authority. The ministry said the aim was to strengthen unified decision-making and institutions in the West Bank and Gaza; no new agreement was announced.
