Egypt recorded a balance-of-payments surplus of US$2.8 billion in the fiscal year from July 2025 to June 2026. In an annual review published on 12 October, the Central Bank of Egypt said net inflows in the capital and financial account reached US$23.2 billion, while the current account recorded a US$22.5 billion deficit.

The bank presented these as the main components of the fiscal year's external transactions. The current-account deficit and financial-account inflows are separate measures; the overall surplus should not be read as the result of either item alone.
