Consumer prices in the Democratic Republic of the Congo rose 0.13% in the 2–9 October week, according to an Agence Congolaise de Presse report citing the Central Bank of Congo (BCC). The previous weekly rate was 0.15%. The comparison indicates a slower weekly increase, but by itself does not establish a longer-term inflation trend.

The same BCC figures put cumulative inflation from the start of the year through 9 October at 7.4% and the year-on-year rate at 3.7%. Food and non-alcoholic beverages accounted for 80.4% of the week’s variation. That is a contribution share, not the rate at which food prices rose.
