A global Capgemini Research Institute survey conducted in July 2026 found 33% of automotive organizations already use agentic AI in product development and 35% are piloting it. Only 5% of respondents reported fully mature AI governance.
The survey covered 800 senior executives in 12 countries: 400 from automotive OEMs, 160 from tier-one suppliers and 240 from technology providers. These are respondent-reported survey results, not national estimates for France or any other country. A separate expectation that use in non-core engineering activities will rise from 26% today to 68% within two to three years is a forecast, not current adoption.
