Statistics Canada’s 2025 survey, released on October 9, put operating revenue for Canada’s film, television and video post-production industry at C$2.4 billion, down 14.7% from 2023. The agency linked the decline to lower film production activity in Canada after the post-pandemic production boom in 2023.

Operating expenses also fell, by 15.2% to C$2.2 billion. Because expenses declined faster than revenue, the operating profit margin increased from 6.0% in 2023 to 6.7% in 2025. These are nominal current-dollar figures; Statistics Canada says data for 2021 and 2023 were revised.
