Bolsa Família recipients accounted for 85% of net formal job growth
An FGV study based on Caged records found program recipients filled 85.18% of net formal jobs added between early 2023 and July 2026.

Brazil’s Ministry of Development and Social Assistance reported on October 1 an employment analysis by the Getulio Vargas Foundation using Caged administrative records. The study counted 5.38 million net formal jobs created nationwide from January 2023 through July 2026; Bolsa Família recipients filled 4.58 million.
The ministry said the period included 91.8 million hires and 86.4 million separations. Women accounted for 55.40% of recipients’ net job balance, while people aged 18–24 accounted for 40.52%. These are period totals from an FGV study using Caged records, not an estimate of causal program impact.
