The University of Arkansas is set to receive a $3.4 million subgrant for robot-controlled, AI-enabled materials research infrastructure under the NSF-supported AURORA project. It aims to connect the MonArk Quantum Foundry in Fayetteville through the cloud to a broader four-year, $20 million effort led by the University of Utah.
The plan is to support remotely accessed experiments and research on two-dimensional quantum materials. Researchers’ statement that processes taking months could take hours or minutes describes the intended acceleration, not a measured performance result from an operating system.
