# Newsverum

> Newsverum is a source-linked news publication built around data. It reports on the global economy, business, finance, energy, climate and public affairs in Turkish and English, with selected Arabic, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese editions. Every story links its primary sources, and many carry typed, downloadable data.

Reading and citing:

- To follow the news at the lowest cost, read the wire (one line per story) and then repeat the poll URL on its last line: it returns only stories published or changed since. Read chosen stories as briefs (dates, figures, sources) and fetch full text only when needed.
- Cite a story by its canonical URL, https://newsverum.com/{language}/news/{slug}. Each edition has its own URL; a missing translation redirects to the English edition, and only real editions appear in language links, feeds and sitemaps.
- Every story is also available as Markdown at its URL plus `.md`, and as JSON from the API. Both name the HTML page as the address to cite.
- Event or data periods, source release dates and Newsverum's first publication are different dates. The first publication time never changes; corrections are listed on the story with their dates.
- Missing values are not zero. Forecasts and targets are not observations. Subject labels shown as suggestions are candidate annotations, not editorial confirmation. Nothing is a prediction unless a story says so.
- Use ETag and If-None-Match for repeat reads, and follow API pagination links.
- This file is a navigation aid. It is not a license, crawler permission or ranking guarantee; access to the site, API or datasets grants no right to redistribute content.
