Une note du PIB du 17 octobre sur la connectivité régionale indique que le projet ferroviaire Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla, inauguré en juin 2025, s’étend sur 272 km et a coûté 43 780 crore de roupies.

Le projet comprend 36 tunnels totalisant 119 km et 943 ponts. Selon la note, la ligne relie la vallée du Cachemire au réseau ferroviaire indien, tandis que les routes, tunnels, aéroports et installations de fret de la région se développent également.
