ASML y TSMC anunciaron que el 7 de septiembre crearon una iniciativa sectorial para impulsar la transición a fotomáscaras de 12 pulgadas. La industria de semiconductores ha utilizado durante mucho tiempo máscaras de 6 pulgadas; los socios afirman que el formato mayor podría respaldar la litografía High NA EUV.

Las compañías prevén una línea piloto de máscaras de 12 pulgadas para 2031 y sistemas litográficos listos para producir nodos avanzados en 2033. Son objetivos de los socios para el sector, no una línea de producción neerlandesa ni capacidad ya completada.
