This measures the share of area managed by women, not the proportion of farm managers who were women. Coverage is limited to holdings above the physical thresholds set in EU farm-statistics regulation. Of the 241 NUTS 2 regions with available data, 134 had a share of UAA managed by women below the EU average. Friesland in the Netherlands recorded the lowest share, 2.7% (about 6,000 hectares), while Oberösterreich in Austria recorded the highest, 42.5% (about 211,600 hectares).
