During a business mission to Uzbekistan, representatives of Pakistan's WaterCon met officials from the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Jizzakh's regional administration. An account published by Uzbekistan's embassy in Pakistan on 6 October said WaterCon and the administration signed a memorandum of understanding for a 500-hectare olive plantation in Yangiabad district.

The document covers olive cultivation as well as processing and finished-goods production. Later stages are intended to include industrial processing, packaging and exports under the Made in Uzbekistan brand. The release gave no investment value, timetable, production capacity or finalized export contracts; the parties listed infrastructure and pre-project work as next steps.
