The US Department of Agriculture’s October 2026 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE-676), approved and released October 9, updated US crop forecasts and the global supply-and-use outlook for 2026/27. A separate NASS Crop Production report forecast 2026 soybean output at 4.56 billion bushels and average yield at a record-estimated 53.1 bushels per acre; corn was forecast at 16.0 billion bushels, which would be the second-highest crop on record if realized.

In WASDE, the US wheat export forecast was cut by 25 million bushels from the prior month to 750 million, while ending stocks rose by 23 million to 740 million. The projected average farm price was lowered to $6.30 per bushel. Global soybean production was raised to 442.70 million metric tons; Canada’s wheat production outlook was raised to 36.5 million tons and Russia’s wheat-export forecast to 40.0 million tons. These are marketing-year projections, not realized outcomes.
