The ministers agreed to deepen cooperation on maritime safety, emergency response and economic activities in the Arctic Pacific region. The ministry said they would develop the work through the Arctic Council and a new working group, while strengthening practical cooperation on critical-mineral supply chains, small modular reactors, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

They also discussed the Korean Peninsula, deterrence and efforts to pursue peace, stability and denuclearization through dialogue and diplomacy. The announcement records a memorandum and further cooperation plans; it does not identify a newly funded construction project or report that the region’s security challenges have been resolved.
