It proposes one 5-kW modular hydrokinetic turbine along the Buckeye Main Canal, operated by the Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District in Maricopa County, Arizona. FERC staff preliminarily found the project would not change the canal’s agricultural water-delivery purpose and meets qualifying conduit hydropower criteria.
