# UK removes planning permission for cross-pavement home EV chargers

> The UK Department for Transport said from 21 October drivers can install qualifying cross-pavement home EV chargers without planning permission. The government said removing the permission process could save up to £300 on installation and make home charging available from 2p per mile.
