# UAE first-half GDP reaches AED961.9 billion

The UAE’s real gross domestic product reached AED961.9 billion at constant prices in the first half of 2026, up 0.4% from the same period a year earlier, the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre said on 9 October. Non-oil GDP grew 1.8%, lifting non-oil activities’ share of the economy to 79.2%, from 78.1% a year earlier.

In the second quarter, real GDP fell 2.1% year on year and non-oil activity declined 1.1%. The centre cited regional developments and travel disruption affecting tourism, transport and trade. The figures are preliminary estimates; the centre said results of its comprehensive GDP revision programme are due in the first quarter of 2027.

Methodology: Preliminary estimate reproduces the real constant-price value and year-on-year changes reported by FCSC on 9 October. First-half and Q2 values are distinct periods; Q2 percentage changes compare with the same quarter of 2025. The source labels the results preliminary.
