Tower Semiconductor and U.S.-based Semtech announced a multi-year agreement expanding a 20-year relationship in silicon-germanium (SiGe) components for data center links. Semtech will invest to secure dedicated capacity across Tower’s global fab network. The agreement is intended to add supply assurance on top of current production.

The companies said Semtech products target 800G, 1.6T and future 3.2T optical and copper links in AI data centers. The arrangement covers Tower fabs in the United States, Israel and Japan. The announcement did not disclose reserved production volumes or the investment’s monetary value, and future demand or design wins are not guaranteed to become production orders.
