A child and adolescent psychiatry unit opened at Children’s University Hospital in Damascus on October 12, SANA reported. The project involved the Arab-German mental health association Balsam, the Taawon Charity Foundation and Khudh Beyadi, with funding from GIZ.

The unit combines an outpatient clinic, inpatient care, a specialist library and a team spanning psychiatry, pediatrics, psychology and social work.
